In our last blog post, we talked about ways to prepare your home for the fall real estate market here in the Comox Valley. One of our important tips was about minor home improvements, so we thought we’d elaborate on that as it can make a big difference to the listing and selling price of your home.
Preparing to sell your home is an exciting and opportunistic time. Potential buyers of your property will be walking through each room of your home; reviewing cupboard space, checking views and even measuring nooks while dreaming of their own homeownership future.
Taking time prior to listing to improve your property will maximize your revenue and reduce possible counter-offers with these real estate pre-sale update suggestions;
Whether you’re listing a residential property or rural escape in the Comox Valley; make a great first impression to your potential buyer with a clean yard and a welcoming porch. A new potted plant on the doorstep and a raked garden take a front porch to new levels. Take time to mow the grass, manage the weeds, mend any shingle concerns and clear the gutters for optimal showings. Further polish your curb appeal by touching up paint on your front door, porch railings or window shutters.
A Fresh Coat of Paint;
Tried and true; one of the most cost-effective and immediately gratifying improvements you can make to your home is a fresh coat of this year’s popular paint colour.
