Does this sound like YOUR home?

Spring is in bloom in the Comox Valley! Surely you know what that means – it’s prime Real Estate season. The Comox Valley is no longer Vancouver Island’s best-kept secret, with out-of-town buyers, Canadian military postings, and of course, our local savvy investors. And can you blame them? Our mild climate and stunning natural beauty offers THE unparalleled lifestyle for families, retirees, and young people alike.

You’ve likely heard in the news that our inventory is low, and we still find ourselves in a very active market, which is only picking up. Properties are being snapped up by savvy buyers (sometimes even before the For Sale sign breaks ground!) and selling for record-breaking prices.

One of the best, surefire ways we keep our business up-to-date with today’s Real Estate marketing and technology trends? Attending the biggest, hottest conferences and conventions in North America. This is where we connect with industry leaders, suppliers, and thinkers/movers/shakers who help us bring fresh ideas back to our home here in the Valley. Keeping on pulse of what is happening in our Canadian (as well as American) markets is of key importance when it comes to projecting future trends and shifts – helping keep our friends and families informed.

Wow! What a summer we’ve had in the Comox Valley real estate market. As we head into fall, real estate continues to be a driver of economic development. Permits for new single family homes have increased by 51% in the regions of Comox, Courtenay, Cumberland, the CVRD and Campbell River compared to this time last year. Needless to say, this is a significant increase!

The average sale price of a residential home is up 9% from 2015, but this isn’t turning off buyers. We’ve had a record average of 117 houses selling per month in 2016. Looking back at the previous two years, in 2015 an average of 78 houses sold per month and in 2014 it was 73. The majority of sales are in Courtenay (39%) and Comox (24%). 6% of houses sold are in Cumberland.

However, there is a shortage of homes in the market – giving you just the right opportunity if you’ve been thinking of putting your home on the market. Chances are likely that you may receive a high profit for the sale of your home and the sale sign won’t stay up long .
