Once fall is upon us and the kids are back to school, we have approximately 75-80 days of normalcy before the holiday season hits – the perfect amount of time to get your house prepared and on the market! Selling your home in autumn is favorable as buyers are back from their summer holidays and have eased back into their regular routines, and there is often less inventory competing for buyers’ interest. The ‘back to school’ mentality lends itself well to serious buyers, who see the fall season as the perfect opportunity to dedicate some time to finding a new home. Remember, serious buyers are always looking!

When I was a young boy growing up in the Comox Valley, I watched my mother (Jill Hansen) run a very successful Real Estate business to help support her family of four children and her fisherman husband. I observed the way she dealt with clients, and saw how happy they were after she helped them with one of the most critical transactions of their lives – buying or selling their home.  She approached every aspect of her business with great passion and diligence; and took pride in accomplishing a job well done.

I came to idolize her, and by 13 years old, I knew that I one day wanted to be part of the Real Estate business as well. From the day I told my Mom that I wanted to be a realtor as well, she has continuously been one of my biggest supporters.

Typically summer sales tend to slow down by late July, but that wasn’t the case this summer in the Comox Valley! This is the FIRST year since 2007, that we have experienced an above average number of sales. In the twelve months ending July 31st, 2015, there were 1555 sales of all property types, a 12% increase over 2014.* We are expecting to see a stronger than usual fall market as well.

If you pay attention to our Facebook page, you’ll have noticed how our listings have been flying off the market: SOLD, after SOLD, after SOLD! (In fact, for this very reason, we’re growing tired of our sign topper, “Bryce Does it Again!” and we’ll soon be holding a contest looking for new ideas!) These stunning properties won’t last long.
